A Fence Built to
Last for Years

A fence is only as good as its posts. If they're not set deep enough, plumb enough, or secured properly, the whole thing starts leaning and rotting within a few years — especially in New England where the ground freezes hard every winter.

Paul sets posts correctly from the start — properly dug, properly set, and properly braced. The panels and rails go up level and secure, and gates are hung so they actually swing and latch the way they should.

Whether you need a brand new fence or just want to fix the one that's been leaning since last winter, Priceless Precision handles it right.

We Build & Repair All Fence Styles

Every property is different. Paul will help you figure out what style makes sense for your space, your budget, and what you're trying to accomplish.

02

Layout & Planning

Post spacing is planned, corners and gates are mapped out, and any grade changes or obstacles are accounted for before digging starts.

03

Post Setting

Holes dug to proper depth, posts set plumb and in concrete, and braced while curing. This is the step that determines how long your fence lasts.

04

Panel & Rail Install

Panels or rails installed level across the run, with consistent spacing and secure fastening at every post.

05

Gates & Hardware

Gates hung plumb with proper hardware so they swing freely, latch cleanly, and won't sag or drag over time.

Fence FAQs

How deep should fence posts be set in Massachusetts?
In Massachusetts, posts should be set below the frost line — generally at least 42 to 48 inches deep. Posts set too shallow will heave and shift with the freeze-thaw cycle every winter. Paul digs to proper depth every time, no shortcuts.
Do I need a permit to install a fence in Massachusetts?
It depends on your town and the fence height. Many towns don't require permits for fences under 6 feet, but some do. Paul can help you figure out what your specific town requires before the project starts.
My fence is leaning — can it be repaired or does it need to be replaced?
Leaning fences are usually a post problem. If the posts are rotted at the base or heaved from frost, they need to be replaced. In many cases the panels and rails are still fine and can be reused once the posts are reset properly. Paul will give you an honest assessment of what's salvageable and what needs to go.
What's the best wood for fences in New England?
Pressure treated pine is the most common and cost-effective choice — it holds up well when properly installed. Cedar is a natural alternative that resists rot and insects without treatment, and looks great. Paul will walk you through the trade-offs during your estimate.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes — every job comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If anything isn't right after the work is complete, Paul comes back on his own time at no charge to make it right.
